A nice day out

All I wanted to do today was stay in bed under the covers doing nothing (which is what I've been doing for the past few days), however I had made plans to go have lunch with one of the girls I used to work with. So I dragged myself out of bed got ready and trotted off to Slough where I was meeting her. We spent a really nice hour just having a catch up and a laugh, it made me feel so much better just being out of the house and having a friend to talk too.
Sadly the hour was up even before we knew it so we said bye to each other and went our separate ways.
Determined not to feel upset or down I decided to have a little trip to London. So after I quickly nipped into Starbucks to get a coffee on the go (always needed) I made my way to the train station where I hopped on the train and was at London Paddington Station 20 minutes later.
I knew even without thinking where I wanted to go. Covent Garden is one my favourite places to go in London, and it always makes me feel better when I'm feeling a bit low. So I had a walk through the various stalls and just taking everything in as I always do. I then popped into American Apparel and yes I finally gave in and bought the infamous disco pants. It took me about half an hour to get them on, I think I'll have to have a trial run of putting them on in a hurry.
Anyways after that I walked around Covent Garden and then found myself in front of Starbucks again, so naturally I had to pop in there and grab myself another coffee.
I then decided to make my way back home because it was getting dark and was very very cold.
The Journey on the way back was not a pleasant one, we were all thrown off at a station to be told that there was a signal failure at the next station so no trains would be running at the said time. It was then another 45 minutes before we got on another train and were slowly making our way home. However, we were told we would have to get off 4 stations before our final destination because the driver had been told that he had to turn around. Luckily it wasn't long until another train came along and we finally got to our destination.

So all in all I really enjoyed today. Doing things really does help feel the tiniest bit better.I know that when you're feeling upset and down the only thing you want to do is stay in bed and do nothing, but if you can manage just to have a wonder around either with a friend or just by yourself, you will feel better. Trust me.
